Unorganized post

Instead of nicely laying out my post today, I will just be throwing it all at you at once! Pictures are from the past few days. We went to a nice BBQ at the Hulslander residence the other day, where Connor enjoyed all the attention : ). For anyone that doesn't know our family and theirs, it has always been a rivalry of families as they are big Gator fans and we are big Seminoles. So whenever we have the chance to sport our team's attire, we take the opportunity. Was hoping to get a few spit bubbles spit John's direction as he mentioned his team, but you can never expect a child to perform on cue : ). Connor was wonderful, enjoyed some BBQ, and took a nice walk down by the huge-o houses on the water.

Enjoying dinner on the bed of a truck : )

"BBQ...Mmmmm"

Katie also just got home for a short break from school/work before the fall semester starts up again. She just turned the big 21, so we got to celebrate with her (a few days late) when she got in to town. Here are some illustrations from the day.

Papa suited up for the pool, so I didn't have to change/get in : )
Was a nice little break & Connor had a ball!

Katie's home!!

Connor is a nightmare to get a diaper/clothes on these days. Here is a photo of him sneaking away (after the pool) and plopped himself in front of "Dora" : )

Could have let him hang out like this all day, but was afraid of any 'messes' he would leave behind!

Cuddle time with his Auntie!

I am such a Publix cake promoter...so here is the cute little cake Katie had for her b'day (was cuter in person--beachy, sea theme and was so tiny!

Then today was Connor's 1st haircut! He was starting to get kinda scraggly looking, so I made him an appointment at Off the Top Barbershop. We saw a friend, Ann, and she did a great job considering Mr. swivel head was all over the place. Connor did pretty well, with the help of lots of distraction and snacks....especially considering I had to wake him up this morning to get him ready to go (been sleeping in 'til after 9am these days!). Got some good pictures and hair saved for the memory book!

All covered and ready to go!

Did pretty well in the beginning...

He LOVES the camera!

Still doing well...

He ripped off the 'cape' and the tears began...

I could get him to sit still by letting him bite me...oh what a Mother will do! Had some lovely vampire marks after the event, but whatever helped him! : )

Ok...so I guess even though I wasn't trying to be organized, it kinda came out organized. Can't help it, I guess!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATIE!!

I know its a little late in the day, but I just wanted to wish my wonderful sister, Katie, a

HAPPY HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY!!

(I'm sure you're thrilled I used this picture, but I didn't have any recent ones of just you!)
We love you and hope you had a wonderful day!!

Connor decided to celebrate by toilet papering the bathroom! : )

Dance Party!

Connor LOVES music. We have this great CD with a few songs from the Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, and Dora on it. Connor usually just plays with his toys with the music on in the background. A few times, though, he climbed the TV (spiderman style) and started to bounce up and down on his legs. We then got the idea to have a little dancing fun, like Mom used to do when we (my brother, me, and my sis) were little. Connor was so funny! Enjoy the pics from our little dance party : ).

Mr. Chubs! Looks like cheek torture, but he loved it...and so did we! : )

Snuggle bug

Oh, how I love my son! I know I say this all the time, but he is so so so squishy : ). We had some good cuddle time last night before bed (which is rare, since he never stays in one place for very long unless he's asleep!). Oh, how I love my son! : )

Don't be fooled- he's just cuddling, not sleeping!

Fingers are always in his mouth, ever since the new teeth!

He was pretty interested in "Jon & Kate Plus 8" : )

Day or night...its always time for spit bubbles!

I think we were having a chat...or spit bubble competition?!

Ever since the teeth, he has become quite the thumb sucker.

Got a couple videos of Connor talking in the bathroom, that are rather comical. I'll post them when I have a little more time. A few updates:

- Tooth #2 is about to make an appearance!

- Connor is becoming a pro at putting himself to sleep...fell back asleep 3x last night on his own! : ) Each time I got up, because he usually stands and gets stuck holding onto the side of his crib. Every single time I got right up to his bedroom door & would then hear the beautiful sound of silence : ). I'd wait a few minutes, then go in to make sure he had his blanket on. Yes, I know...I could be sleeping at this time, but I get so proud of him that I have to check on him and see how precious he is : ).

-Auntie Katie will be home in a few days for two weeks!! We can't wait!!

Monkey Business

The Windex Co. can thank Connor for keeping them in business! Over the weekend, Connor thought it was fun to talk to the sliding glass door. He would first climb up it like Spiderman, squish his face into the glass, and let out his Hulk voice. At first, I thought the whole 'Hulk voice' was because of his teething, but now I think he just likes the sound of himself! Went outside to see how goofy my little man looked and got a few pics of him in action : ).

Mr. Connor is quite a hoot these days. Before bedtime, he loves to just play independently, crawl up to you and take a good chomp out of your leg, and let out some fun noises! I just want to squeeze him when he's all cuddly in his big boy jammies too.

Connor has had this booster seat for quite some time now. My first few attempts with it were rather unsuccessful. I pulled it out of the closet this morning to try it out again & Connor did great! As long as he knows he will get food, I don't think he cares where he is sitting! He looks like such a big boy : ). I also just got Connor a new Monkey cup from Target (great sale) and its perfect for him (has a tiny straw that he can suck out of). We also tried it out this morning & he didn't want to give it up. He loved it! Seeing him with his cup was kinda funny---there is a striking resemblance between the two of them! : ) My little Monkey...

FEED ME!! FEED ME!!

Ok, seriously Mom! Put the camera down and feed me!

Healing power

I don't smoke. I rarely drink. I used to bite my nails when I was stressed.....

Now, my sweet release of stress comes packaged from a magical land by the name of the Publix Bakery. That's right. Hand me a buttercream anything and a fork and I am healed!! I believe genetically this habit was passed down from my Grandma, to my Mom, to Me. It will always be a wonder to me that we all do not weigh a good 400 lbs from all the fabulous Publix cakes we have probably consumed in our lifetimes! Feeling stressed + Publix cake = one happy lady...or at least until the sugar rush wears off :).

So God bless our metabolism and more importantly, God bless Publix cake!!

SMILE!

I started off the day trying to console Connor after what appeared to have been a bad dream that woke him up this morning. In the back of my mind, I thought he would definitely go down easy for his morning nap since he woke abruptly this morning. You would think I would have learned by now not to assume things with a child....Mr. Funny Man decided to skip his morning nap all together! He was happy as a clam, so pulled out the camera to help pass the time. Over the past few days, Connor has been developing this 'clinch your gums' face. He usually does it randomly when his teeth are hurting. Well, this morning he kept making the 'clinch' face every time I'd say "Cheese!" He would go from his wide open mouth smile to his clinchy face. Looks very similar to the 'fake cheese' face kids have when they are told to smile and it isn't a real smile! My sister was the BEST at those smiles! If only I had some of her elementary school photos from when we were kids on the computer... : ). We love you, Katie!! So here's a picture of the face. It's a good shot of his tooth too (may have to click on the image to enlarge).

TGIF

We look forward to our Friday nights every week. Dinner with Nana and Papa! The restaurant of choice is usually Papa Joe's, which is wonderful. It's a great, little place with the best bread and pizza. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Getting ready for one of our many daily walks

1st time eating inside at Papa Joe's. It is nice and loud, so it helped drowned out Connor's table banging : ). Almost got a few mouthfuls of the paper table cloth! He was a good boy though!

Connor listening intently to his Papa explain the BWLK survey marker we came across on our walk. Connor, a future surveyor?! If he's outside and around some trees, he's in! : )

Connor LOVES to check out man hole covers. Every one we came across, he made sure to get a good view of it.

Papa's the best!

My little squishy boy : )

Connor reassuring me that he still loves me more than his Dora!

Connor checking out his new faucet cover! "Who are you and what are you doing in my bath?!"
