Last Night I witnessed a Miracle...

So here's how my nights usually play out- Connor in bed by 9:30pm, I run around with a few minutes of free time before bed, I go to bed, like clock work Connor is up at 4:00am, I nurse him, then he's up randomly until he's ready for the day around 6:45am. Here's how beautiful last night was--

Connor asleep at 9:15pm. I went to bed around 10. I heard Connor squirming around and starting to squawk around 4:00am. I went to his room to get him before he was into an all out scream when something amazing happened...I opened the door to his room to find silence. I stood there for a few moments waiting to hear him, but nothing! I slowly approached his crib to find him rolled over from his belly to his back and wedged sideways (hamburger ways instead of hotdog ways if you will!). He was sound asleep! It was the first time he has been able to roll over in bed!

I was so excited- I grabbed the video camera, but couldn't figure out the night mode to be able to see him. I grabbed my digital camera, but was afraid the sound and flash would wake him. I should have been enjoying the time myself sleeping, but was so excited about what I had just witnessed that I couldn't go to sleep! So no picture, no video, but a wonderful image I will never forget in my mind : ).

*The picture posted is an oldie from when Connor was teeny blob and immobile. Now you put him to bed on one end of the crib and he wakes up at the opposite end, flipped over, and sideways!

Sleep anyone?!

So I think I jinxed myself! I was one of those parents that bragged that my kid slept through the night (10+ hours) since he was a teeny weeny boy. Now, around the time Connor hit 4 months, he decided to make a liar out of me! We get up from 1-5 times a night...depending on how many times Connor wants my company. I hate the idea of letting him 'cry it out', but all I want is him to get a good night's sleep. I know he is capable! We've tried everything from going to bed earlier, going to bed later, spending more time in the tub to wear him out at night, stuffing his belly so I know he isn't hungry in the night, cutting back on food so he doesn't have bad gas, LATHERING him in lavender lotion....you name it, I've tried it! I'm just hoping that he will miraculously decide to go back to his old ways and sleep from 9:00pm to 8:00am again. Still can't seem to get upset with him though since he always wakes refreshed in the morning like he slept wonderfully and is so glad to see me! That little weinie....

Water Boy!

On Saturday, we introduced Connor to boating! Me, Connor, Cooper, Papa & Grandma all ventured out on the boat for the first time together! Talk about A LOT of work for a short period of time, but all in all, the trip was successful! For a kid that doesn't like a lot of things, he didn't mind being squished into his life vest. It made the perfect pillow! Despite the windy weather, we had a great time cruising around. Cooper was in full hunting mode helping Dad fish while I was most concerned about keeping Connor sunscreened up and in the shade. So at the end of the day we had a worn out dog and sleepy boy...so Mom was happy!
