Big boy bed!

There once was a two year old that mastered the art of climbing from his crib...
He scared his Mother half to death when he appeared standing in her room last week around 3am...
His baby crib has since been converted into his big boy bed...
With the freedom of this bed, comes lots of mischief at nap time and bed time...
Our nights consist of ups and downs and ups and downs...
But he's slowly learning that big boys need their sleep...
Night #1 in his big boy bed

The game of opening his bedroom door, greeting Mommy in the livingroom, running back to bed, getting tucked in, Mommy closing his bedroom door behind her only to be opened again by Mr. big boy...went on for about 30 minutes.
But this is the little face that awoke the next morning.

Naptime was a different story...
Mr. Mischief enjoyed the freedom of playing in his room instead of napping when told. His door remained closed during his 'naptime' and he eventually fell asleep up against his bedroom door on the floor. When he woke, this is the room I found...

Connor had fun playing with his trash can, pulling out each wet wipe and laying them on his glider chair, read a few books, and tossed a few toys around...but all in all, his room was still in livable conditions when nap time was over.
Here's to the fun and freedom of many more naptimes and bedtimes to come...

Christmas Christmas Christmas!!

My OCD-self has been so busy trying to take Christmas decor down and organize my house to fit all the new toys/goodies, that I am just now getting the chance to load photos from our Christmas festivities. Without further anticipation....here you go! :)

Our trip to Santa-land!

The only snow I can handle....the soap-bubble-machine-kind!

Our best attempt at a photo of the three of us (in Santa's chair while he was on a break!).

Trying to kill time while we patiently waited in line for the train ride. We decided to practice body parts on Santa. You do what you have to do to keep a toddler standing still and quiet!

"Connor....where's Santa's nose?!"

Precious hugs for Santa :)

Still practicing body parts while waiting in line...

Connor....where are your ears?!"

Christmas Eve--the fam :)

Us kids :)

The Sherms :)

Not sure how I managed a photo of the adult table and not the kid table...but here's the adult table!

After family time, we were headed over to hang with some friends for their Christmas Eve festivities. Connor is the youngest of a group of about 7 kids, but he keeps up with them really well! He loves trying out new toys and hanging with the 'big kids'.

This toy was AWESOME and kept Connor very content...all up until he made one swift move and the tower came crumbling down. It took three adult attempts and my determination of about 15 minutes before I could get it back together & functional again!

I caught Connor riding Taylor's pretty pink princess chair & wearing her cowboy hat...saying "yee haaaaw!" Oh I love him! :)
After we got home, Matt & Connor had fun watching Santa on his phone while I got settled in before bedtime.
Off to bed Connor went....and Santa came thereafter!
Here are the goodies Santa delivered for one good little boy.
Mr. big boy climbed out of his bed Christmas morning to discover the wonderful land of new toys in our living room.
Checking out Santa goodies with Mom :)
Connor's latest fave--chowing down on frozen pancakes and waffles....that's right....he prefers them frozen!!!! Mmmm!
It didn't take Connor long before he discovered his Elf on the Shelf's new hiding spot :)
Ho Ho Ho!
We were then off to Nana & Papa's for more Christmas fun! First stop--the rock bed in the back yard. Connor finally wised up and found that it was WAY easier to just sit in the rocks & launch them conveniently from that area instead of pulling them out one by one.
We rummaged through our stockings...
where Connor found a cool new FSU hat just his size :)
Auntie Nicole captured shots of our little model...

We snapped a very successful family photo!

Cuddle love for a few of Connor's favorite ladies!
Nana/Connor love
Gift time...
One of Connor's favorite gifts this year...
his Mickey Mouse and friends action figures :)

Just relaxin'
Going for a cruise on his new wheels with Papa

So much fun can wear a kid out...
Thanks to all that celebrated Christmas with us!
Can't believe it has come & gone already!

A little of everything...

With Christmas approaching ever-so-quickly, I've made little time to post new pictures and updates. I opted to skip my nap time during Connor's nap time to catch you up on some recent photos and events. You're welcome! :)

Mr. Big boy is learning how to climb up on his horse and ride it all by himself. He had me & Papa cracking up the other night when we got him saying "Yeeeee Haaaaaww" as he bopped up and down on his horse. Too cute!

I was introduced to this cute website by a few girls at work....It's portablenorthpole.tv...and it's worth going to if you have little ones of your own! It's a great site where you enter a few things about your child (name, what they want for Christmas, and what special message you want Santa to tell them). Once you enter all your info, the real Santa comes on and talks directly to your child! It's soooooo cute & Connor adored it! He managed to throw a fit every time Santa stopped talking to him (we played the Santa clip a good 5 times for him)! Connor got the message from Santa to "always listen to your Mom" and to "remember to eat your vegetables!"

Haha!! This picture cracks me up!! This is what Matt and I found in the living room the other night before Connor went to bed...
Connor has decided to decorate the Christmas tree all by himself...by sticking all of his toys wherever he can at the bottom of the tree. I came out to find a basketball, toy truck, and a good 7 actions figures stuck between the limbs! Connor was so proud :)

Last night Connor had a good time with his favorite people--Nana & Papa! The look on my child's face when he sees them melts my heart every time!

Big foot!!

I would rather not recall the events that occured between the hours of 8-9pm last night...
***Matt, Connor & I ventured out to do some Christmas shopping. The trip consisted of 5 stops, all of which did not carry what we were looking for. The weather was beautiful, the company I was surrounded with were the two boys I care for deeply, but our evening was somewhat challenging for me! After a major tantrum in the middle of JC Penney, with sneakers flying off his feet and whines/screams equivalent in annoyance to scratching nails on a chalk board, we took a stroll over to our next store. During this short adventure, Connor decided to void his supper into a lovely, richly scented package in his diaper. We decided we'd split up--Matt would do the shopping while I rushed my munckkin to the store's restroom to get him clean up before the oh-so-lovely pooh aroma was noticed by fellow shoppers! So into the restroom we went....to find NO changing table. That's right...if I wasn't exhausted enough from fending off tantrums while shopping, and toting my 36 lbs child across this outdoor shopping center~ I now had the priviledge of changing my wiggle-worm toddler's poopy diaper while he was standing upright in this quaint little bathroom. I'll spare you the details, but we managed to get him into some clean britches and out of that store...
We weren't having success shopping and anyone that shops with me knows I run out of steam really fast if I am unsuccessful finding what I'm looking for. When all else fails, go to TARGET! :) Target consisted of a few more tantrums and a Mommy meltdown. I quickly realized I had reached my limit and we needed to abort-abort-abort and go home. As we loaded Connor in the car, I came to a scary realization....
Connor's Special Agent Oso lovey was MISSING!!
Duh Duh Duhhhhhhh....
This isn't just any action figure. This toy Connor plays with the moment he wakes, carries it when we go anywhere, plays with it the moment we get home, and likes to be tucked in with it. It's three little figures---Oso, Dottie, and Wolfie---well Oso & Dottie were accounted for while Wolfie abandoned ship!
Matt knew at this very moment that he may have a psychotic meltdown from me if he didn't act fast! Without thinking, he said he'll find him & rushed back into the store to hunt for Wolfie. We swore Wolfie entered Target, but never made it out, so he had to be here somewhere! I searched high and low in the car while Matt rounded up every passing shopper to give them each the full description of the missing toy. He grazed our entire shopping route throughout the store like a bloodhound, determined to find Wolfie! When Connor and I had no luck in the car, we ventured back into the store to find Matt. We teamed up and followed our shopping path one last time in hopes to discover Wolfie just waiting for us somewhere.
No luck.
I was crabbier than a crab at this point. I foresaw a night of Connor searching hopelessly for his Wolfie and crying to sleep without him as part of his Special Agent Oso trio. I envisioned a late night trip to ToysRus to purchase another one. I loaded Connor up in the car, grabbed his seat belt to strap him in....
And spotted him!
Wolfie was tucked up behind Connor's carseat the whole time! I was so relieved to find Wolfie, but was also terrified to turn and admit to Matt that I found him sitting in the car that whole time...
God bless you, Matt, for having the patience for my crabbiness! We got home, unloaded from the car, and found ourselves laughing about 15 minutes later. Mr. Connor was a hoot, playing with his Oso trio and learning some new tricks with us (we taught Connor where his tongue was--he'll poke his tongue in and out on cue now). We then thought it'd be fun to slip Connor's giant feet into even bigger shoes (Matt's). Not only was it hilarious to see him act like a ham in Matt's shoes, but we managed to get Connor to say "Cheese" after we kept prompting him to say it & smile for the camera!
So the looooooong evening of tantrums, changing an upright poopy diaper, unsuccessful shopping, and a missing toy false alarm, we managed to end our night with some big chuckles with Connor :).

Saturday happenings...

Our Saturday happenings consisted of Aidan's 3rd birthday party & the Cape Coral Holiday Festival. Connor had a very busy, exciting day!

Music Together class for Aidan's birthday!
Although I had to work, Nana reported that Mr. Connor had a liking to the drums!

Mr. Aidan :)

Hugs for Connor's birthday buddy!

After a nap (that was WAY shorter than it should have been for a boy that had such an eventful afternoon), we gathered some friends & their kidlets for the Holiday Festival.

Notice all the cheery faces near Mr. Santa Bear, while my precious little love was clinging to me for dear life! I think his trip to see Santa last week has traumatized him for the remainder of this Holiday season!

The three of us

Excuse my face...
This was where many of the kidlets that we went with were standing for over an hour to get a brief ride down the 'snow mountain.' I was pretty glad Connor didn't realize what he was missing, since A. the line was forever long and B. It just looked like a wet, cold, dirty mess :) This was our attempt in squeezing in a cute picture between the sea of passing crowds and bulldozing strollers...

Although it looks like we're going to be eaten by this blowup snowman, this was another grand idea for a cute picture...Connor was not too sure about this mammoth inflatable guy.
**Notice: If I am holding Connor for any extended period of time, you will find me standing like this...it's the only way I can bare to lift 36 lbs of boy...I let my hip do all the work!

Mr. Funny man getting a good view of the shows and passing crowds :)
