Trailer adventures!

Want to know how to make a Monday great?!  Go fishing!

We ventured to Papa's Chokoloskee Hideaway and the boys had a great time.

The day went a little like this...

Connor took Noah under his wing & insisted he show him around.  This is the time I adore the boys together.  Connor gets this teacher-like voice and talks slower explaining everything to Noah from where to find the curly tail lizards to important dock safety rules.  Noah follows Connor's lead and it's pretty awesome.

{Gross curly tailed ginormous lizards are in here}

Bless my dad's heart for taking on the day adventure of taking the boat out with us by himself.  It's all second nature to him, but it's pretty amazing to watch.

Let the fishing begin!

The popular catch of the day were Jack.

You are never unsure of where Noah is on the boat.  He's either snacking or playing in the bait well.

We had a pretty great system going.  Papa and Connor fished off the front, Noah retrieved shrimp when needed, and I snapped pictures.

Our only hiccup of the day was right after this moment right here...

Connor caught a beautiful red fish & we were all excited to see a good sized fish AND it wasn't a Jack this time.  I had my camera ready.  Papa grabbed the fish to measure it.  The boys watched with excitement and giggles.  Then Noah took a mis-step where his toe went under an open hatch on the boat.  As he tripped forward on the hatch door, he pushed on the door causing his toe to get pinched underneath.  We all watched it happen in slow motion.  I calmly scooped Noah up as the loud cries came out.  Noah had a good little sliced down the center of his big toe.  I think it wouldn't have been as bad if Noah didn't see his toe.  Once he saw the dead skin and the tinge of blood, it took a little time to get Noah to settle the cries.  Poor kid.  Want to know what else stunk in that whole situation?!  Through the quick reaction to consoling Noah, Papa tossed the red fish overboard before we got a picture. Haha.  He did measure it at 17 inches though, so Connor knew how big his "giant red fish" was.

A little Bandaid and nap on Mom for Noah and he was back to good in no time.

While Noah snoozed, Connor tried anxiously to reel in a shark on the big pole.  He was surprised to hook a blue fish instead.

The winds picked up and the fish quit biting at that point, so we headed back to the docks.  After tossing a few bait in there, we pulled out a pretty Snook to end of fishing day!

Lots of fun today!  We will all sleep good tonight!!
