Labor Day Weekend Vacation!

A four day weekend, a two hour car ride out of town, and a wonderful boyfriend & son made for an amazing Labor Day weekend!

Day #1: 60's concert in the park
Although we didn't sit down for a good two hours, Connor had a blast roaming around, showing off his cute little charm to the older crowd, making a new little girlfriend purely because she was sporting an Elmo shirt, checking out all the dogs, and playing on the play ground.

Two very dear things to my son....his MOM and FOOD :)

Day #2: A long, confusing car ride ended up here: the Splash ground. It was a small water fountain area, similar to the one at our Lakes Park. I had scoped this place out ahead of time, assuming Connor would LOVE it. He did a few rounds, splashed in a few puddles, then was pretty much over it. Since it wasn't as great as I had hoped, we opted for plan B: Chick-fil-a playground. :)

After Chick-fil-a, we decided to live on the wild side (since we were approaching the all important nap time) & took a trip through the mall on our way home. We were actually successful in finding a great sale, scarfing some yummy ice cream (as seen in photo below), watched the carousel, and discovering a nice mall that Mommy plans to go back to when she is childless in the near future :).

Our night consisted of Special Agent Oso (Connor's love) and a game night for the adults. Connor had a wonderful time, talked to Oso a bit, watched some of the game time, and ran around with his new buddy, Cleo, the dog.

(Cleo may look intimidating, but she is SO incredibly sweet. They took to one another right away & are 'fetch buddies' now)!

Day #3: Beach trip.
The drive to & from the beach felt like an Eternity, but overall, the trip was successful. Like most trips, Mommy & Connor did not sit down the entire time--we chased seagulls, ran from flag to flag near the boat rental place, & splashed in the water numerous times. We left quickly as a giant wind storm practically blew us & all the sand on the beach into the parking lot. The two hours of stand still traffic on the way home & sand particles in every clevice of my car made for one crabby lady, but we made it back in one piece. After a nice shower & some down time on the sofa, I was back to my good ol' self.

We had a wonderful trip & plan to do it again sometime soon!

Early b'day present

I have no idea why it took me so long to order this pool for my water boy, but as of yesterday....it has arrived! Yes it is rather large....yes it takes up a lot of room....yes it takes some work to fill it up each time....but it is 100% worth it!! Mr. Connor was anxiously awaiting his pool time, while his amazing Nana was blowing the whole thing up (thank you, Mom). Once it was up & running, Connor did not want to get out!

"I love you, new pool!"

Enjoying cartoons while Nana was working on the pool. I received the memo when I got home from work that poor Nana was blowing up the pool while Connor was pressing/playing all over it. God bless you Nana!! :)

"Ok, seriously. Is it pool time yet?"

Once I got home from work, I finished blowing up the sunshade & we were in business! And for those wondering whats in Connor's hands, those are indeed rocks from our planter. Ever since Connor's beloved Uncle Craig taught him to throw rocks into the canal, he finds such enjoyment out of tossing rocks into any body of water. Since it wasn't hurting anything, I gave him the green light to toss some rocks in his pool. Connor was beyond thrilled!

"Life is good!"

Playdate!

Connor & Nana ventured over to Pip's house early this week. Aidan & Connor are over a year apart, but it'd be hard to tell just by their appearance. No surprise to many....I'm pretty sure Connor's head size & shoe size have Aidan beat! I hate that I missed out on the fun, but very thankful Nana caught some footage for me.

A zillion new toys & Connor finds the balls...

P-O-O-L!

If you are around Connor, you better spell the word p-o-o-l...because once Connor thinks he is going to swim & splash, you best be ready to do it!! Connor has been a water boy since he was born & at 21 months old, he is certainly no different. We had a great Sunday afternoon~ Matt, Connor & I ventured out on a bike ride to "Mrs. Lori's" house (AKA Matt's mom's) to go swimming. The bike ride didn't seem to be that far when we were talking about it, but my legs felt differently once we were about half way there! We spent a good few hours in the pool & Connor had a blast! Lots of toys and splashing led to a wonderful way to spend the day! Our bike ride home was a race against the rain, but we made it to our destination dry & with a sleeping little boy in tow. All in all, we had a successful, fun day! :)

Little does Connor know, he will be jumping for joy soon when our inflatable pool arrives in the mail. Not sure why it took me so long to order one, but once its here...I'm sure it will be put to good use! Stay tuned for those pictures too!

Nothing compares...

...to the bond between Connor & his Papa :)

Sweet dreams of Dora...

I could eat him up! :)

Peyton play date

Although Connor has already played with Peyton on a few occasions, this past Wednesday was my first time meeting her myself! I've been following her blog since she was born, so I already felt like I knew her. I was so excited to see how Connor & Peyton would interact. We had Peyton, her Mama, Tiffany, & Auntie Nicole over for a little evening play date. It didn't take long to notice that Peyton is ALL girl and Connor is ALL boy! Connor is more on the rough, tough, and loud side while Peyton was more on the chatty, dainty side. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get great pictures of two moving children, but I did my best to help capture the kidlets interaction with one another.

Peyton was trying hard to keep up with Mr. Connor as he trotted around inside his Dora tent.

Such a doll!

"Whatcha reading Connor?!"

"Look up & say CHEESE Connor!"

Mmm...

Don't you just wanna eat her up?!

The kids didn't really play until Connor got a hold of Peyton's ball. It quickly turned into a game of fetch!
FYI: Sharing is not Connor's strong suit quite yet.

"Ok, Peyton, here's how this works. I'm gonna throw the ball. I want you to go after it...BUT the ball is still MINE."

"Ok....GO!"

And again...

And again...

And again...

Peyton did an awesome job keeping up with Connor. Once Peyton is running, Connor has surely met his match!
