Nana & Papa Vaca

I'm sure many of the 'Connor followers' know that Connor adores his Papa. I think it has really reached an even higher level of love over the past few months. Let me just give you a little example...

(Yesterday)
Mommy: "Connor, do you wanna head over to Nana & Papa's for supper?!"

Connor: "Pa-Pa?!" Then he beelines it out of bed, grabs his juice cup, opens the laundry room door to the garage, walks around to his car door, and waits for me to load him in the car.

Mommy: "Are you excited to go see Nana & Papa?!"

Connor: "Pa-pa, Pa-pa, Pa-pa, Pa-pa!" as he claps his hands!

For the next 5 minutes in the car, we have a cheer we do on the way to their house. "Na-na & Pa-pa's, Na-na & Pa-pa's" (in our best singy-song voices) as we clap the whole way. God forbid we make any stops prior to their house or have to make any construction detours, because my child is fully aware of every route to Nana & Papa's house.

Once we pull into the driveway, Connor begins to get slightly panicked if Papa's car is not there. We rush to the front door. We try to time it just right, so that Papa is home from work by the time we get there, but sometimes we beat him home. If that is the case, Nana gets the feeling of chopped liver as she opens the front door to a suddenly disappointed two-year-old who was anxiously awaiting the appearance of his PAPA!!!! We explain for the 10000000000th time that Papa is on his way home from work & will be there soon. Connor continues to ignore us as he scavenges the house in hopes of finding his one and only Papa. We then decide to go wait outside to look for Papa's car. Oh. My. Heavens. My child sounds as if he is calling out for his lost dog. "Pa-pa?! Pa-pa?! Paaaa-Paaa?!" It is around this time that Nana sneaks a phone call to Papa to see how much longer until he'll be home! Ever car that passes and isn't Papa's, brings whines of impatience.

But holy moly, when Papa does come home...it's better than any gift Connor has ever received!!!

He runs, he grabs his Papa, and gives him the biggest, clingiest bear hug you've ever seen!

It is at that moment that Mommy, Nana & Papa's hearts melt! :)

With that said, when Connor got word that his Nana & Papa wanted him to stay over last weekend, he was pretty pumped! Here are some pictures that Nana snapped while Connor had a little Nana & Papa vaca!

Conched out after a fun evening.

Morning storytime cuddle time. Nana broke out our collecting of Mercer Mayer books from when we were kids. :)

Morning bike ride.

BBQ gathering at Lakes Park.

This hat fits Connor great. It's Papa's. My little Mr. big head.

Life is so good!

Mommy stopped by after work to join the fun!

Connor is one lucky little guy!
