Happy Halloween 2012!

Mama took the day off of work & we let the Halloween festivities continue all day long.

Connor slept ALL night the night before (you have no idea how wonderful that was for us!).  It's been bedtime bootcamp around here lately.  Connor does a better job listening to Matt tell him to stay in bed than Mama.  We all woke well rested Halloween morning & we knew it was going to be a lovely day!

Our first stop--Miromar.  I had read in the paper that they were holding come Halloween crafts, so we headed up there.  The playgrounds turned out to be more attention grabbing than the pumpkin coloring sheets, so we played hard for about an hour.  Connor is so quick to socialize with the other kiddies & it wasn't long before he was playing tag, holding hands with youngin's to help them up the steps, and racing little guys around the playground.  When his friends started to trickle out, he grabbed me for some good ol' hide & seeking.  When our stomaches started to growl for lunch, we grabbed a sandwich, said "hey" to the ducks, and headed out.

On the way home, I suggested we swing by "Papa's fish store" aka Bass Pro Shop.  Connor never passes up a trip to the store with the best stairs & elevators!  We climbed the steps, snuck in a quick picture with Charlie Brown & the gang, then road the elevators down (about 3 times...).

We snuck in a fish lesson, where Connor can identify a few more fish species.

"Redfish have spots on their tail."

"Snook have a long stripe."

"Whiskers is the kitty cat fish."

We went home, hopped in bed for a quick nap, then woke bright eyed & bushy tailed & ready to get suited up in his costume!

Kaylee & Austin headed over to trick or treat with us!
The cousins all decked out & ready to go!

Matt got home just in time to head around the neighborhood with us.  I was very happy!  *Sidenote: Halloween marks Matt's 1 year with Parker Hannifin.  So proud of him.

We met lots of our new neighbors & saw hundreds of neighborhood kids!
This was Connor's first Halloween of being very verbal.  Since Connor doesn't like chocolate, he was the kid that would sift through each candy bowl looking for a lollipop or gummies.  We got up to the first house & Connor goes, "I don't like any of these."  I quietly whispered to Connor that if he gets to houses & doesn't like their candy/chocolate, Mommy will trade him for gummies when we get home.  From that point on, he did a good job of picking candy, then turning to me & saying "Here Mom! You can have this!" :)

The kids were in and out of their wagons throughout the evening, but they were happy to ride on our way back home!

Austin & Kaylee had to get home to bed since they had school in the morning, but we opted to move out in the front yard & Connor, "the candy man," helped hand out the remaining candy to trick-or-treaters.

Sad to put away our blow up pumpkins now that Halloween is over.  Connor has fun naming the pumpkins each year.  This year, from right to left, they are:
"Ki, Sarah, Emma, Lilly, Mommy, Matt, Nana, Papa, Auntie Katie, Auntie 'Cole..."

Every time we asked him to name the pumpkins, their names would change slightly, or he'd name about 10 more names than we had pumpkins... :)

We packed up & headed in for a late night supper before bed.
My boys are the cutest :)

We hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
